This is Simon Williams from The Ballery in Schöneberg, Berlin.
Over the past 7 years, I have worked passionately to create a safe space for a vibrant and diverse community in Berlin led by artists from all over the world. Throughout the years, I have hosted countless exhibitions, concerts and social events.
As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world upside down. For sure one of the hardest-hit areas is for those who work in the arts.
To address the challenges brought by the pandemic, I created an online-only show called TransVision where Berlin’s artists can work collaboratively and continue to reach new audiences with their voices. This cohesive collaboration provides a unique experience for those who watch the show online and also at The Ballery where they are recorded. So far, we have self financed and broadcast 5 episodes (you can watch them all here) and collectively, our shows have been watched by thousands of people. With each show we are improving!
In addition, we have organised a pop up art season throughout the month of August showcasing the works of over 50 visual artists. Each Saturday and Wednesday, a different group of Berlin based artists present their works to new audiences. Details about this event are on our website.
The Ballery has become a valued and important space for so many people and we need help at this challenging time.
We want to list some of the ways you can support The Ballery and the artists I am working with. You can support me by:
- Purchasing the artworks: The Art section on our website provides a detailed look at all the artworks that are on display at The Ballery. The artworks are for sale and the purchase of these works directly supports the artists who created them. In these challenging times, the sale of artists’ works provides them the lifeline they need to survive. You can also book a private walkthrough with me using the form shown in each page in the Art section.
- Sponsoring TransVision: As mentioned earlier, TransVision allows us to bring The Ballery to the homes of people around the world. If you are working for a company who is willing to support the diverse artists of The Ballery and have your brand appear at our next show, you can get in touch with us and we can explain to you the ways you can be involved with the next TransVision, which is due in September.
- Donating to The Ballery. The other way you can support our work is by donating to The Ballery. 100% of your donation will go towards funding The Ballery and the artists we work with. You can donate any amount you are comfortable with (click the following buttons to donate using PayPal). If you donate more than €50, your donation will act as a deposit and can also be used towards any purchase you make at The Ballery (ie purchase of an artwork, purchase of a ticket or any other paid event) in the future.

We have big plans for the rest of the year as well as 2021 and beyond. Our objective is to transform The Ballery into a production house where we not only support our community with our platform but also guide them with creative direction. From online tv shows, performances and plays, to bringing in some of the finest products for the creative community, we are working on a number of innovative ideas. For bringing forwards the stars of culture and entertainment; we are dedicated to be the leading figure in Berlin’s creative scene and for that, we need your help & support.
As you can see, we are working hard to support the community in Berlin and with your generous help, I hope we can continue to support this amazing community I am proud to have dedicated my life to.
Thank you very much for your help and support.
